Welcome to our Early Access Launch Page for The University of Marriage!

We are so grateful for your support. Join us for the official UniversityofMarriage.org launch on November 29, 2029!

Over forty years of sitting with couples in the hardest stretch.

For more than four decades, Marriage Rediscovery has helped couples find the way back on intensive marriage retreats — from crisis, betrayal, communication breakdown, and the quiet drift that empties a marriage without anyone raising their voice.

It began the way peer ministry always begins: couples who nearly lost their own marriages turning around to help the couple behind them. Not therapists. Not academics. People who had been through it. That is still who leads the weekends and builds the courses.

Our signature intensive, the Rediscovery Retrouvaille Weekend Retreat, runs nationwide. Around it now sits a full ecosystem — courses from four weeks to a full year across marriage, personal growth and faith. Not marriage in general, but where marriages actually land: money, parenting, in-laws, caregiving, addiction, betrayal, illness, grief, the empty house, the second half. Newlyweds to retirees, including surviving spouses.

Every course begins with The Guide Team — mentor couples who lived the circumstance it's about — then is reviewed by clergy and lay ministers from both Catholic and other Christian traditions, and by professionals in the relevant field. Clinically sound, theologically sound, and developed by people who have actually been through it.

And none of it leaves you alone: 24/7 access, supportive course guide teams, online events, and a forum of couples in the same place you are. Some of couples go through the course together, others are individual journeys.

For clergy and counselors: somewhere to send the couple in your office at four o'clock on a Friday — and formation for your own work.

A New Beginning for Marriage and Family LIfe Ministry—Thank You for Helping Make It Possible

Dear Friends and Partners in Ministry,

Because of your encouragement, expertise, prayer, and service, a new beginning is taking shape.

On November 29, 2026—the First Sunday of Advent—the University of Marriage™ by Marriage Rediscovery® will officially launch its full online platform at UniversityofMarriage.org.

Advent begins a new year in the life of the Church—a season of hope, spiritual preparation, and opening our hearts to Christ as we anticipate Christmas and his coming again. We can think of no more meaningful time to begin this work: helping people grow in faith, strengthen their marriages, and nurture their families.

Before our public launch, we are welcoming you into our Early Access & Founding Community. This is an opportunity to explore the platform, experience the courses, and help us refine the experience for the individuals and couples who will follow.

Our initial selection of courses is available for you to explore below, and new courses will come online each week. We invite you to begin with an offering that speaks to your needs or interests and return regularly to discover what’s new.

Above all, this is an opportunity to say thank you.

To the Catholic Family Life Association and the diocesan and parish Family Life staff serving on the front lines of marriage and family ministry: thank you for listening to families, recognizing their needs, and helping them find support. Your daily work keeps the realities of marriage and family life at the heart of this mission.

To the Catholic Psychotherapy Association and the clinicians who have contributed their expertise: thank you for your thoughtful review and for the compassionate professional care you provide to individuals, marriages, and families. Your perspective helps us offer sound educational guidance and recognize when participants may need additional professional support.

To the physicians, school administrators, addiction recovery professionals, financial counselors, and other professionals whose work touches families in so many important ways: thank you for generously giving your time and professional skills to review our content and offer feedback. You bring an understanding of the challenges families face that helps make these resources more practical, thoughtful, and responsive.

To our dedicated priests, pastors, lay ministers, and pastoral staff: thank you for grounding this work in prayer, helping us remain faithful to our mission, and bringing the needs of the people you serve into its development.

And especially to our peer couples: thank you for serving tirelessly, sharing honestly, and accompanying others through the joys and difficulties of marriage and family life. Your willingness to walk alongside another couple makes hope tangible.

You have helped bring this mission to life.

Our primary focus is strengthening marriage and family. Most offerings are designed for married couples and can be completed by one spouse or both together. Several faith-centered and personal growth offerings may also be enjoyed by clergy and individuals who are separated, divorced, or widowed.

Rooted in our Catholic mission, we welcome people of all faiths. Courses are designed to meet participants where they are spiritually—whether Catholic, another Christian denomination, or spiritual and still searching.

Every course includes a community section, where you can communicate with others taking the same course, share encouragement, and reach out to the Guide Team’s mentor couple. Our platform calendar will also highlight special events, guest speakers, and live workshops throughout the year, creating more opportunities to learn and connect.

Course timelines are estimates: workshops generally span four weeks; master classes, six to eight weeks; programs, twelve weeks; and journeys, six to twelve months. Move at your own pace. Subscriptions are offered monthly or annually and renew automatically unless canceled.

Online courses for your marriage, for your own growth, and for your faith — from a ministry that has spent decades in rooms with couples in every kind of difficulty and every kind of hope.

— Your Guide Team

Marriage is learned. Start anywhere.

What you get with me

  • One conversation a week that isn't logistics. A structured weekly conversation with the question already written for you, so nobody has to be the one who brings it up.
  • Language for what's actually happening. Most couples know something is wrong and can't say what. You'll be able to name the pattern you're in — out loud, to each other.
  • People who have been where you are. Mentor couples from The Guide Team who lived this same thing and came out the other side. Not a help desk — people you can reach.

How learning with me works

1

Pick where to start

Join one of our workshops, master classes, programs, or journeys — each is a full curriculum you can start today.

2

The lessons adapt to you

Every lesson adjusts to your level, your faith preferences, and a program guide answers your questions as you go along.

3

Learn by doing

Learn with your spouse or on your own — you build skills and gain practical tools, not just watch videos.

Questions, answered

Who I help

The couple who've quietly drifted.

Living Like Roommates. No real conversation, no affection, no intimacy. Polite, efficient, and strangers.

The one who just found out.

An affair, an emotional affair, pornography, a secret account, or a lie that changed everything.

The couple the kids are pulling apart.

Fighting about discipline, screens, stepchildren, a teenager in trouble, or a parent in the middle of your marriage.

The person who knows it's their own work.

Alcohol, drugs, gambling or pornography — and the promises that keep getting broken. Recovery is the beginning of rebuilding.

The couple whose structure just disappeared.

Life changing upset, such as a diagnosis, a death, a miscarriage — and two people grieving it completely differently.

The couple carrying something heavy.

Hidden debt, a layoff, spending that can't be explained, financial collapse, or a spouse married to the job they can't afford to leave.

THE FOUR LENGTHS

Three places to grow

There are three places to grow here, and most people end up in more than one.

Grow Your Marriage is the work between the two of you — communication, conflict, money, intimacy, parenting, in-laws, and the seasons that change everything. Grow Yourself is the part you brought with you: anger, control, avoidance, money, and what you learned about love long before you ever met. And Grow Your Faith is praying together, coming back, starting fresh, grieving, or going deeper — in your tradition, or in two.

However long it actually takes.

Some things you can get your footing on in a month. Some things take a year, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

A four-week Workshop takes one specific situation and helps you get your footing. A six- to eight-week Master Class takes one important area and builds the skill. A twelve-week Guided Program goes deeper — far enough to change a pattern, not just name it. And a Journey runs six months to a year, for the things that genuinely take that long: recovery, rebuilding after betrayal, a first year without someone.

You don't have to guess which one you need. Each course suggests how long it runs and why.

Courses for Every Season of Marriage

Most marriage material is written about marriage in general. It tells you communication matters and conflict is normal and you should make time for each other, and none of it touches the thing you were awake about at two in the morning.

Ours are built the other way around. Each one starts from a specific situation — the argument you've had eleven times, the year after the last child leaves, the month after you found out, the season where one of you is caring for a dying parent and the other doesn't know what to say.

You'll know within one sentence whether a course is yours.

What This Program Is and Isn't

Our programs are education. They are not professional counseling, therapy or diagnosis, and they are not a church authority or a source of doctrinal ruling. Where something belongs with a licensed professional, we'll say so. Where something belongs with your own pastor, we'll say so.

We're not going to promise you a saved marriage, a changed spouse or a guaranteed outcome. What we can tell you is what we've watched work, in plain language, in the order that makes sense. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at hello@universityofmarriage.org.

If this is an emergency, or if anyone's safety is at risk, contact your local emergency services. For confidential help with suicidal thoughts, abuse, active addiction or a mental health crisis, findahelpline.com lists verified helplines in more than 175 countries.

Faith is part of this. Which part is yours.

The University of Marriage is grounded in the Christian understanding of marriage — though not in only one version of it. Couples come to us Catholic, Protestant, from two different faiths, still exploring, or from none at all. All are welcome here.

When you begin, you choose the path that fits the two of you. The Scripture, the prayers and the practices follow from there.
